Lesson Plans August 13-24 Monday-Tuesday Introductions Rules School & Class Pre-Test - Financial Literacy Wednesday-Thursday-Friday Occupational Outlook Handbook Careers/Salaries/Working Conditions/Education Students will find 3 occupations that interest them. They will write and turn in the information and begin setting realistic goals. Monday-Tuesday Sign-in to - Google Classroom and Everfi Financial Take Personality Test on-line Find 3 different jobs in OOHandbook that meet your personality and likes. Wednesday-Thursday Students will create a updated Resume and 3 paragraph cover letter. Market Planning - 4 “P’s” of marketing, (Product, Place, Price, Promotion) Product Service Management - Describe what is your product or service and why is it better than your competitors. Students will work in pairs to develop a new or improved product and in google slides to present to the class. Wednesday - Thursday
Pricing - Your most important and difficult decision. Will you use supply and demand? or price it low to increase sales? or high to increase profit margin? 1 or 2 Students can work together. Advertise, Promote, or Demonstrate a Product Service Skill Powerpoint, Video, Photos, Demonstration 1 minute or longer. Friday
Students will complete Everfi Module #3 on Credit. (100 pts. Possible) October 1-5 Monday Students will continue purchasing stocks and setting up their stock journals. Thursday - Friday Students will check their stocks and make investment decisions with simulated money in class. Students will learn to fill-out a 1040-EZ Form. They will practice on filling out a real tax form. Discuss with students Credit scores, history, and bureaus. Explain actions that raise and lower credit scores. Students will do Everfi Lesson 4 on Credit Scores. October 8 -12 Monday - Tuesday Students will continue purchasing stocks and setting up their stock journals. Students will complete Everfi Module #3 Payment Types, Interest Rates, Credit Cards, Credit Card Offers, Term and Billing. How to Manage Existing Debt Students should make up any Everfi Lesson or upgrade their score before the 1st 9 Weeks grades. Last chance to turn in over due work from the 1st 9 weeks. Wednesday - Thursday Students will continue purchasing stocks and setting up their stock journals. Students will watch a 15 minute video on how to fill out a 1040EZ Tax Form. They will then fill-out a 1040EZ Tax Form in class. Students will learn how to calculate interest, monthly payments, number of years to purchase a new or used vehicle. They will also have to look up current interest rates on new or used vehicles. Friday Students will check their stocks and make investment decisions with simulated money in class. Discuss with students Credit scores, history, and bureaus. Explain actions that raise and lower credit scores. Students will do Everfi Lesson 4 on Credit Scores. October 15 - 18 Monday - Students will check their stocks and make investment decisions with simulated money in class. Discuss with students Credit scores, history, and bureaus. Explain actions that raise and lower credit scores. Students will do Everfi Lesson 4 on Credit Scores. Students will do their Tax Terminology sheetin class and turn in. Tuesday - Students will check their stocks and make investment decisions with simulated money in class. Students will create a Personal Property Inventory of everything that they own & another one for everything that is in their house or apartment. They will create this for Insurance purposes. Students will then fill out a Last Will and Testament in class. They will give all their worldly possessions to one or more beneficiaries. Wednesday - We will have guest speakers from Bancorp South (Joe Williams and Kathy Brumett.) They will present on Budgets, Credit and Credit Fraud. Thursday. - !0th grade students will be testing on this day. Friday - This will be a teacher inservice day. Students will not attend school this day. October 22 - 26 Monday - Tuesday Students will check their stocks and make investment decisions with simulated money in class. Students will work in groups of 4 and go to www.crfb.org/debtfixer to decide how to decrease the Federal Governments debt.
